Loft404 is a creative space designed to inspire the senses and calm the soul. A mixed-use multi-level labyrinth in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District, this unique hidden gem is a rare sanctuary welcoming a variety of guests for occasions of every kind.
Designed with a sophisticated eclectic bohemian charm, each of its many spaces can be booked privately as fully-equipped lofts aka. “Wings” or together as one interconnected multi-level labyrinth totalling over 5000 sq.ft. on the 4th floor + 2000 sq.ft. in the basement B-Lounge.
Loft404’s flexible options offer a uniquely customizable experience ranging from complete ‘One-Stop-Shop’ service that includes catering and entertainment to a ‘Bring Your Own’ option to accommodate all needs and budgets.
The story of Loft404 began in 2010 with a Craigslist post, when founder & owner Genna Bauder discovered the space in an apartment ad for a 4th floor studio in the beautiful old heritage Purman Building at Adelaide & John.
Transforming the space from a residential artist studio into Loft404 The Ambrosia Hub (re-named Loft404 Inspired Gatherings in 2012), she expanded Loft404 piece by piece “wing by wing” into it’s current 8,000 sq.foot multi-level manifestation.
“Feast on what inspires you & your dreams will manifest…”
Loft404’s flexible design is matched by our uniquely accommodating philosophy and fee-structure which is dedicated to welcoming all guests with dreams both big & small. We celebrate the value of barter trade & recognize the unique abilities & resources of our guests.
In the spirit of quid pro quo we offer our basement B-Lounge for discounts in exchange for a barter of equivalent value. The barter is based on our ongoing wish list which includes a wide variety of items, tasks, projects & services. Examples are endless and we are also open to unique offers!
BARTER: exchange of goods or services for other goods or services without using money
QUID PRO QUO: something that is given in return for something else or accepted as a reciprocal part of an exchange
Built in 1915, Loft404’s home is the beautiful heritage-designated Purman Building (since re-named Adelaide Street Lofts) at John & Adelaide Street. Constructed for the Atlantic Fur Co. Ltd (the old sign of which is still visible on the west facing wall of the building) the building has seen many incarnations over it’s 100 years and is now home to a diverse community of students, artists, and businesses alike.
